New Releases
2005 Russian River Estate Bottled Reserve Syrah
The 2005 Estate Bottled Reserve Syrah was produced from a selection of Syrah
barrels that showed the best aging potential. The wine reflects the exceptional quality
of grapes grown on our hillside estate vineyard at the winery.
Produced in the classical French style from multiple clones of Syrah grapes grown
at the winery site, our 2005 Estate Bottled Reserve Syrah’s color is dark violet and
the layered fruit ranges from black cherry to blackberry with a hint of pomegranates
and with peppery and smoky accents. On the palate, the texture is smooth with a
very long complex, jammy finish created by the rich, yet soft, tannins.
Properly cellared, we would expect this wine to age
well for 8-to-10 years. Versatile with food, Syrah pairs well with
grilled red meat dishes, duck, Mediterranean-style food (olive oil,
garlic, rosemary and thyme are its friends) as well as spicy food
and cheeses.

2006 "Catie's Corner" Viognier
The 2006 Viognier, as in previous years, is produced from Catie’s Corner Vineyard
in the Russian River Valley, a vineyard developed by Saralee Kunde.
Viognier (V-Own-Yeah) is an enjoyable white wine whose grapes have their origin
in the Rhone Valley appellations of Condrieu and Chateau Grillet.
The 2006
Viognier has a complex nose of apricot, peach, pear, citrus (lemon) and wild
flowers. The mouth feel is harmoniously balanced between richness and lively
acidity. The finish is marked by long lasting flavors reflecting the fruity and floral
aromas.
Food friendly, Viognier pairs well with fish, spicy foods, Asian infusions,
crab, lobster, rice pudding or just drink it as an aperitif. Serve slightly chilled to
enhance the fruit characteristics of the wine.
The grapes were whole berry pressed and then fermented in a stainless steel tank at low temperature to
preserve the varietal’s aromas. The wine was aged in the tank on the fine lees
to build rich mouth feel and crisp finish.
- Harvested October 2005
- 3.2 tons/acre
- pH 3.37 at bottling
- 492 cases produced
