2004 Russian River Zinfandel
The 2004 Russian River Zinfandel is the Fall 2006 Cellar Club
Selection (for members choosing red wines only or all three wines).
We made this wine from grapes grown at two nearby vineyards, both of
which add to the complexity and taste of the wine. Thirty percent
are from a two acre plot of 80 year-old vines which are dry farmed
and have a few intermingled Alicante Bouschet and Carignane vines.
Seventy percent are from young but old clone Zinfandel vines. The
younger vines bring a subtle berry aroma and acidity, while the
older vines add structure, concentration and intensity. The wine
is somewhat spicier than our Dry Creek Zinfandel due to the cooler
Russian River climate. This complex primitivo-styled wine is
layered with ripe and jammy boysenberry, blackberry, prune and
currant fruits. We recommend that you cellar this wine for a year.
We expect the wine to age well over the next 4-to-6 years.

Deux Barriques
Available for the Holidays
In 1998, we decided to make a very special wine in a limited quantity from our two favorite grapes, Petite Sirah and
Zinfandel. We created Deux Barriques (two barrels). The wine is a marriage of two barrels produced from grapes grown at two very
special vineyards in the Russian River Valley, our Block #1 Petite and an
old vine Zinfandel vineyard across the road.
Both barrels of wine were selected for their intensity, structure, aging potential and true fruit characteristics. The Petite
and the Zinfandel complement each other, producing a wine that is dark garnet in color with blueberry fruit overtones and layered
ripe, jammy boysenberry-blackberry fruit with a full creamy mouth feel. The Petite is aged in a French
oak barrel for 18 months
and the Zinfandel is aged in American oak barrel for 18 months. A delicious wine to serve with
lamb, game birds and rare tuna.

Upcoming Events
Fall for Zin
Saturday, October 28
11 am–5 pm
Attention all gremlins and goblins! Join us for our
4th annual harvest event—Fall for Zin. We will taste a vertical of
both our Russian River and Dry Creek Zinfandels, paired with hearty
Fall Fare. The Zins will be available for purchase at special
prices. There is no charge and no reservations needed but maybe
there will be a trick or treat. There is no better place to spend a
beautiful fall day but in the wine country. The 2004 Petite Sirah
Port and our 2004 Late Harvest Viognier will also be available to
taste and purchase. The 2004 Russian River Zin will be released. We
hope to see you. Bring your friends, family and any friendly ghosts.

Older Vintage Week

Holiday time is fast approaching again, and at
Christopher Creek Winery we are ready to help you find the special
wine for a holiday dinner or gift. Once a year we bring back some of
our older vintages to taste and buy, as well as our Big Bottles
(magnums) of Petite Sirah, Syrah and Cabernet. This week we will
also be tasting our newly released 2004 Petite Sirah Port and our
2003 Deux Barriques (a special blend of Petite Sirah and Russian
River Zinfandel). For your shopping convenience, the tasting room
will be open daily 11 am to 5 pm (Closed Thanksgiving Day). The
Library wines and the Big Bottles are available for purchase in
limited quantities, so order early. If you can not visit us, orders
can be placed by phone, fax or e-mail. Cellar
Club Members receive a 20% discount.

Winter Wineland

Attend this Russian River Wine Road event with more than 100 wineries participating. Be the
first to barrel sample the 2006 Christopher Creek Petite Sirah, as well as our Syrah and Dry Creek Zinfandel
at this event. We will also be serving food. Futures will be available for purchase. Tickets are available two
months before the event, by either calling 800-723-6336 or visiting the
Wine Road Web site.
Barrel Weekends

New this year, Barrel Weekend will run for two
weekends! Plan to spend the weekend in northern Sonoma County and barrel sample wines at 100+ wineries.
Futures will be available for purchase at Christopher Creek. There is $10 charge for this event which includes a
glass. You can buy the glass at the first winery you visit. We will be serving food as well.
