The September 16 Tastings column from The Wall Street Journal touted A Winemaker’s Dozen (the Napa-Sonoma Tour) and noted that
“good wine is a product of personal passion.” And we at Christopher Creek couldn’t agree more. We were pleased to be listed as one of the 12
most memorable wines from this trip, with our 2003 Russian River Valley Petite Sirah described as “simply amazing” and “smooth and beautifully

New Releases Now Available
2003 Russian River Zinfandel
The 2003 Russian River Zinfandel is the fall 2005 Cellar Club Selection (for Cellar Club Members choosing red wines only
or all three wines). We made this wine from grapes grown at two nearby vineyards, both of which add to the complexity and taste of the wine.
Thirty percent are from a two acre plot of 80-year-old vines, which are dry farmed and have a few Alicante Bouschet and Carignane vines
intermingled. Seventy percent are from young but “old clone” Zinfandel vines. The younger vines bring a subtle berry aroma and acidity,
while the older vines add the structure, concentration and intensity. The wine is somewhat spicier than our Dry Creek Zinfandel due to
the cooler Russian River climate. This complex “primitivo-styled” wine is layered with ripe and jammy boysenberry, blackberry, prune
and currant fruits. We recommend that you cellar this wine for a year. We expect the wine to age well over the next 4-to-6 years.

2001 Deux Barriques— Available for the Holidays
In 1998, we decided to make a very special wine in a
limited quantity from our two favorite grapes: Petite Sirah and
Zinfandel. We created Deux Barriques (two barrels). The wine is a
marriage of two barrels produced from grapes grown at two very
special vineyards in the Russian River Valley: our Block #1 Petite
and an old vine Zinfandel vineyard across the road. Both barrels of
wine were selected for their intensity, structure, aging potential
and true fruit characteristics. The Petite and the Zinfandel
complement each other, producing a wine that is dark garnet in color
with blueberry fruit overtones and layered ripe, jammy
boysenberry-blackberry fruit with a full creamy mouth feel. The
Petite is aged in a French oak barrels for 18 months and the
Zinfandel is aged in American oak barrels for 18 months. It is a
delicious wine to serve with lamb, game birds and rare tuna.

Fall for Zin

There will be no tricks (well, maybe some) yet plenty of treats at Christopher Creek’s Third Annual Harvest Event –
Fall for Zin. We will taste a vertical of both our Russian River and Dry Creek Zinfandels, which will be paired with hearty fall fare.
The Zins will be available for purchase at special prices; the 2003 Petite Sirah Port and our 2003 Late Harvest Viognier will also be
available to taste and purchase; and the 2003 Russian River Zin will be released. What better treat is that? Be sure to bring your friends,
family and any friendly ghosts.

Older Vintage Week
Friday, November 18 to Sunday, November 27
It’s time to start thinking about that special wine for those upcoming holiday dinners and gifts for friends, family and
associates. Once a year we bring back some of our older vintages to taste and buy, as well as our Big Bottles (magnums) of Petite Sirah,
Syrah and Cabernet. During this week we will also be tasting our 2003 Petite Sirah Port and our 2001 Deux Barriques (a special blend of
Petite Sirah and Russian River Zinfandel). For your shopping convenience, the Tasting Room will be open daily 11 am to 5 pm (but closed
Thanksgiving Day). The Library wines and the Big Bottles are available for purchase in limited quantities, so please order early. If you
cannot visit us, orders can be placed by phone, fax or e-mail.
Cellar Club Members receive a 20% discount.

Winter Wineland
Saturday, January 14 and

If you attend this Russian River Wine Road event (with
more than 90 wineries participating) you can be one of the first to
barrel sample our 2005 Petite Sirah, as well as our Syrah and Dry
Creek Zinfandel. And sit down with us to enjoy a meal while you visit.

Barrel Weekend
Friday, March 3 through Sunday, March 5
10 am-5 pm
Plan to spend the weekend in Northern Sonoma County and barrel
sample wines at more than 90 wineries. Futures (and food!) will be
