Dessert Wines Available Again this Summer!
We have had many inquiries on when our 2008 Petite
Sirah Port will be available again. We sold out early this year.
We will have the Port again this Summer at our Petite Sirah
Stampede in August. The price will remain at $28 or if you are a
Cellar Club member $22.40.
Available late this Summer, the 2009 Late Harvest Viognier will
surely please your palette. To produce this wine the grapes need
to hang for 8 weeks longer than our regular Viognier to increase
the sugar and to produce a rich mouth feel. We are not able to
produce this wine every year, but 2009 was a good year and the
weather cooperated.
This elegant wine exhibits a complex nose of honeysuckle and wild
flowers with tastes of apricot, pear, and peach fruit. Enjoy with
vanilla ice cream, fruit tarts, apple pie and any creamy dessert.
Serve slightly chilled to retain the fruit characteristics of the
wine.
The bottle price is $30, the Cellar Club Member price is $24 a
bottle.
New Wines Available at Christopher Creek
Kelli's Block #7 Dry Creek Cabernet Franc
Kelli’s Block #7 Dry Creek Cabernet Franc is produced from grapes
grown on 35 year old vines on one acre, in the red soils on the
Eastern slopes of Bradford Mountain overlooking Dry Creek Valley.
This wonderfully balanced 100% Cab Franc wine is intense with garnet
color and aromas of red cherry, cassis, vanilla, mild toasty oak and
caramel. The flavors include red cherry, light cola and caramel.
Aged for 18 months in French Oak Barrels (33% new French Oak) to
produce firm tannins and a long juicy, toasty finish. The
concentration and ample tannic structure should allow for 8 to 10
years of bottle aging. Decant before serving for 20 minutes. Aerate
if possible if serving young.
Red meat dishes and game birds are pairing of choice for the 2008 Cab
Franc. Thanksgiving Turkey would be a great pairing. Our choice for
2010.
Our first vintage (2007) in which we only produced 50 cases is sold
out. Our 2008 vintage will be released Fall 2010.
The price is $50 a
bottle, $40 for Cellar Club Members.
Ashley's Dry Creek Meritage
Ashley’s Dry Creek Meritage is our newest wine. It is a blend of
Caber-net, Merlot and Cabernet Franc all from our vineyard in Dry
Creek Valley. The wine should please the most serious aficionados.
Tastes of black cherry, cassis, blackberry and black plum. Medium
tannins should permit drinking in one to two years with decanting and
aerating. Decant for about 20 minutes. The vineyard has produced many
Best of Class, Double Gold and Gold awards in many competitions
during the last 12 years.
We are fortunate to have these grapes to produce such wonderful and
outstanding quality wines.
The wine will available in Late October 2010.
The bottle price is
$32.00 a bottle or for Cellar Club Members it is $25.60.
Either or both of these wines can be added to your Fall Cellar Club
Shipment. You will receive an E-mail in October letting you order the
wines. They are great for Holiday dinners or as gifts.
