Christopher Creek in the News

Everyone at Christopher Creek Winery has a passion for the memorable wines we produce, and a special connection with all our Tasting Room visitors. But it is always gratifying to see us singled out in online and print articles. Here are a few of our recent accolades.

A Year in Wine

Mike Dunne's wine blog: A Year in Wine is an insider's view of wine judging. Follow wine judge Mike Dunne as he shares discoveries from wine competitions. In this post, he writes about Petite Sirah, Best of the Best . . . and of Christopher Creek's 2008 Russian River Valley Reserve Estate Petite Sirah which walked away with the Best Red at the 2010 Riverside International Wine Competition!

The Wine Whore

Read Randy Watson's great review of our 2006 Russian River Valley Estate Reserve Petite Sirah on his blog, The Wine Whore. If you haven't tried this Best of Class/Double Gold medal winner, now would be a great time to order a bottle and judge it for yourself!

Wine Country This Week

Sue Straight, the Wine Wench, featured Chris Russi, our winemaker in this February 2007 article. If you enjoy our wines, you will want to know more about the man behind our consistent success.

USA Today

Healdsburg, CA was the featured destination in the April 16, 2006 edition of the USA Today Travel section. In an article entitled "Healdsburg Ripens on the Vine," Healdsburg was proclaimed "Sonoma Wine Country's prime destination." No article on Healdsburg and wine is complete without mentioning the surrounding Alexander, Dry Creek and Russian River Valleys. The author singles out standout grape varieties in these premier wine growing regions, and listed recommended tasting rooms. Of course, Christopher Creek is among the Russian River Valley recommendations!

Robert Scoble of Technorati

At Christopher Creek, we are more than just another Tasting Room on the wine trail. Read the blog of Robert Scoble of Technorati as he recounts his first visit to Christopher Creek (scroll down to "How do you persuade?" in the blog). Yes, we are passionate about our wines and our customers!

Ultimate California Wine Blog

California, One Winery At a Time is Carolyn Tillie's tag line for her blog. This time, her visit was to Christopher Creek Winery! Read about her thoughts on our tasting room and our wines. Carolyn Tillie's Ultimate California Wine Blog

The Wall Street Journal

The September 16, 2005 Tastings column from The Wall Street Journal touted A Winemaker’s Dozen (the Napa-Sonoma Tour) and noted that “good wine is a product of personal passion.” And we at Christopher Creek couldn’t agree more. We were pleased to be listed as one of the 12 most memorable wines from this trip, with our 2003 Russian River Valley Petite Sirah described as “simply amazing” and “smooth and beautifully made, like a soufflé of blackberries and bittersweet chocolate.” Come visit us at our Tasting Room and taste our passion!

Hello!

Last night I opened a bottle of your 2005 Russian River Zin I've had since 2007. Just wanted to let you know that it was truly wonderful. Can't wait to open one of the Cabs from the early 2000's you produced. Thanks.

Hello up there:

Just enjoyed a bottle of the 2004 Reserve Petite Sirah, and it was gangbusters...thought you'd want to know for your other customers. It is holding up well.

Dear Christopher Creek:

My husband proposed to me in Napa and we had went to your winery and I will say, THE BEST WINE I HAVE EVER HAD!! So good that when we got married, we had the Zin as our toasting beverage. I am in the middle of making a cork board with all the wines we have had over the years and we do not have a cork from your winery and Limerick Lane. (I will be emailing them next) Is there any possible way you could send me a cork? It would be greatly appreciated.

Michaela Hughes, Magalia, CA

Dear Christopher Creek:

We have been club members for several years and enjoy most of your wines. Tonight, we opened the 2003 Russian River Zinfandel. We really like this wine. It has the aromas and flavors of a great Zinfandel, but without the raisiny, pruny, overripe qualities of more and more Zinfandels. With a little acidity and good balance, it pairs well with food. I hope you continue to make Zinfandels like this in a slightly more restrained style than what we see so often from many other producers. We look forward to many more years of your wines like this.

Brian Crabtree Raymond, MS

Dear Christopher Creek:

We visited you this past summer and have enjoyed the 2004 Reserve Petite Sirah. We visited 25 wineries and think that this is the best wine of them all. I do not see it listed on your web site. Please advise as to if there is any available for purchase. Thank you.

To all at Christopher Creek Winery, especially Al:

On Thursday, September 28, 2006, myself, along with my group of friends, stumbled on your winery/tasting room. It was one of our best finds! Being from the DC and Chicago areas, we were not familiar with Christopher Creek Wines. Al quickly Al in the tastin room.brought us up to speed on the wines—which I must say we all agreed were very good. Not only was Al a wonderful host, he generated a great deal of positive energy in the room, which only made us want to stay longer and learn even more about the wines. What an asset to the Christopher Creek team! The next best thing we found at the winery was Mookie! What a delight. Thanks for a great experience, I will definitely be ordering some of your wines in the next few weeks. Enjoy the pictures!
